A young man builds two enchanted violins. Two girls fall in love with him, one asking for a mournful tune, the other requesting a happy one. Both girls are transformed into willow trees, the young man into a sycamore, while the magical music echoes on. Based on a 1970s arrangement by the group 'Vatra' from Ukraine. Horn transcription, D. Davis.
